Trek Itinerary

Day 1: Zanzibar – Arusha – Mandara Hut (2,700m)

First, take a morning flight from Zanzibar to Arusha. Subsequently, our team will drive you to Marangu Gate to begin hiking through the lush rainforest. Spot Colobus monkeys along the trail.

Day 2: Mandara Hut – Horombo Hut (3,720m)

On the second day, trek through beautiful moorlands with spectacular views of Mawenzi and Kibo. Moreover, you will enjoy the unique flora found only on Kilimanjaro.

Day 3: Acclimatization at Horombo Hut

This is a crucial rest day. Specifically, you will enjoy a short hike to Zebra Rocks (4,020m). Because we value your safety, this step helps your body adjust to the altitude.

Day 4: Horombo Hut – Kibo Hut (4,700m)

Cross the alpine desert “Saddle” between the peaks. Additionally, you will reach your final base camp in preparation for the midnight summit.

Day 5: The Summit – Uhuru Peak (5,895m)

Experience a midnight ascent to the highest point in Africa! Finally, after celebrating at the summit, descend back to Horombo Hut for a well-deserved rest.

Day 6: Descent – Arusha – Zanzibar

On the final day, descend to Marangu Gate to receive your gold certificate. Thereafter, we provide a transfer to the airport for your flight back to the island.

Kilimanjaro Hiking Tour – Marangu Route (6 Days)

Day 1: Zanzibar – Arusha Airport – Marangu Gate – Mandara Hut

5:00 AM: Pickup from your hotel in Zanzibar.
Transfer to Arusha Airport, arriving by 9:00 AM.
Continue to Kilimanjaro National Park’s Marangu Gate (approx. 3-hour drive).
After completing park formalities, begin your hike through the lush rainforest to Mandara Hut (2,700m), where you’ll encounter vibrant forest scenery and possibly colobus monkeys.
Hike duration: 4-5 hours (8 km).
Overnight at Mandara Hut.
Day 2: Mandara Hut – Horombo Hut

After breakfast, continue your hike through beautiful moorland landscapes with views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks en route to Horombo Hut (3,720m).
Hike duration: 6-7 hours (12 km).
Overnight at Horombo Hut.
Day 3: Acclimatization Day at Horombo Hut

Spend the day acclimatizing at Horombo Hut, with an optional short hike to Zebra Rocks for breathtaking views, or relax at camp to prepare for the journey ahead.

Day 4: Horombo Hut – Kibo Hut

Hike through the fascinating alpine desert to reach Kibo Hut (4,700m), where you’ll rest and prepare for the summit attempt.
Hike duration: 6-7 hours (10 km).
Overnight at Kibo Hut.
Day 5: Kibo Hut – Summit – Horombo Hut

Start your summit ascent around midnight to Uhuru Peak (5,895m). After reaching the summit, descend back to Kibo Hut for a short rest before continuing to Horombo Hut.
Ascent to Uhuru Peak: 7-8 hours (6 km).
Descent to Horombo Hut: 6-7 hours (16 km).
Overnight at Horombo Hut.
Day 6: Horombo Hut – Marangu Gate – Arusha Airport – Zanzibar

After breakfast, descend to Marangu Gate where you’ll receive your summit certificates. Return transport will take you back to Arusha Airport for a return flight to Zanzibar.
Hike duration: 6 hours (20 km).
Drop-off at your hotel in Zanzibar.
