Preparing to do a lot of walking? here are our top tips for preparing a walking tour:

Bring a First Aid Kit Carry a tiny first aid kit in a Bag. Take few bandages, sunscreen, bug spray, lotion, antibiotic ointment, chap-stick and tweezers. This is very essential first aid kit to have it. Also you should consider sun glass and hat to be apart of survival kit during the walking tour take place.

Core and Muscle exercise As well as hiking and other forms of cardiovascular exercise, it is worth doing simple muscle exercises to increase your strength particularly in your core, which will help improve your balance and posture. Lunges and squats are ideal for boosting leg strength, while planks are a simple and effective way to strengthen your core. As a bonus, all of these exercises take very little time and can be done at home

Bring Backpack If you’re going to carry belongings with you bring a backpack that sits evenly on both shoulders. An over the shoulder bag or purse will throw your balance off and could leave you with a sore back at the end of the day.

Shoes Be sure you have prepared a good pair of walking shoes and avoid open shoes. Something with support and cushion. Flat’s like Converse don’t provide the right kind of support for your legs or back and will leave you feeling sore at the end.

Prepare for Unexpected weather  Make sure you bring an umbrella with water proof bag that can be able to carry. However, nothing can ruin a walk like having all your belongings soaked, or a cold wind picking up and cutting right through your shirt. So, light, insulating and waterproof gear is always worth investing in.

Blister Prevention Even with the best shoes and socks, blisters can still be a problem, especially if you’re walking long distances for days in a row. In order to try to avoid them, you can put a moleskin bandage or some talcum powder on areas that are particularly prone to being rubbed against by your shoe. Make sure you don’t have anything trapped in your shoes! If you feel a pebble or bit of debris, take the time to get it out immediately before it does any damage. Also, any fitness preparation you do before a walking tour will contribute to preventing blisters, as it should get your feet more used to moving around, and will help build resilience.

Eat This is not the time for dieting, eat foods high in heme iron. That’s going to meat protein like beef, chicken and seafood. Eat small meals as you go. It’s better to eat 4 or more small meals than one big one. It will help keep your energy up and keep you from feeling weighed down. Eat fresh foods instead of junk food. It will make a huge difference in your energy level and how you feel in general.

General Health Checkup The first step is to have a quick chat to your doctor. That is technically what we should all do before starting any new exercise regime, though most of us do not! This will not only ensure that said regime will do you know harm, but can also help you to start off at the right level and improve gradually. And of course, if you have any medical issues, you can find out how to manage these during your training.
