It’s up to you to choose where to go, when to go and what kind of budget you’ll have. Our travel tips cover all kinds of road trips, in all kinds of countries – consider this your road trip.

Road Trip Tips for a Safe and Comfortable Drive

Plan your route

Tick off the places that you would like  to see in between and then see what fits into your timescale. Also the Budget is an obvious factor in making that plan – more on that later, but before you decide what you think you’ll do, it’s good to have a rough idea of what you’d like to do, but not so tight that there isn’t room for plans to go awry!

Use a Google Map

A great place to start. Enter your start and final destination into a google map, and get an idea of timing. Adjust the route and see where you can go, how long it’ll take you  and make sure you’ve got your basic route worked out. You’ve got to have room for the unexpected turns, the snap decisions and the ‘I wonder what’s down here?’ moments.

You have  to prepare your car

You should know what kind of car, how many people are you going for a trip. If your trip is going to be a long one, a couple of months or more, you might want to think about buying a used car and selling it on when you’re done. Make sure you get it checked over before signing anything though – the last thing you need is a break down in the middle of nowhere!

Bring a Cool Bag

Pack a cool bag and cool box to store drinks and snack in case you get hungry.

Team work

Make sure you choose a right travel mate to match your temperament, can do something well that you can’t do at all (e.g. read maps, speak a local language), and one who can handle you when you’re at your best – and worst.

Know the rules of the road

The rules of the road can differ a lot from country to country, so you need to do a lot of research before you set off. It’s also a good idea to double-check the appropriate driving laws during your journey before you cross any borders. This way, you’ll be less likely to encounter any problems and your journey will go a lot smoother.

3 Reasons you should go on road trip

To meet new People

It is the opportunity see new places, new cultures and new ways of doing things – which is very important for personal growth and understanding – something we all need a little extra of in the world that we find ourselves in today. These new friends will not only allow you to leave your mark on them, but they will leave their mark on you – making you want to stay longer than what you originally planned.

To have unforgettable memory

the memories you make will last you a lifetime, it will carry you through all the ups and downs in life, it will bring a smile to your face once you find yourself back in the mundane of things and it will make you spontaneous in your planning of the next Road Trip. How can there not be a next one?

To Discover new things

Another reason why you should go on a road trip is the fact that it’s convenient and easy to discover hidden gems along the way. Some of the best places I’ve seen have been after stopping somewhere or after we’ve taken the motorway exit just to see something new.
